		<description>This illustration was created for the Business section of the Washington Post as part of a wrap up of the fourth financial quarter of the year and has a focus on the best way for investors to navigate through the "Euro crisis".

My response sees the Q4 being a monument of epic proportions, but in a deteriorated state crumbling under its own weight. The storm has cleared now and an investor is being aided in climbing to the top again.

		<description>This commissioned piece was for Sydney based creative agency BMF. The brief was to create a powerful and legible typographic lock up of the words AMAYSIM STORIES to be used in an ad campaign across a variety of media for mobile phone company Amaysim.

Agency: Jacky Winter / BMF

		<description>I was commissioned by US based interior design magazine Boston Home to create an opening spread illustration for a section called The Best Of Boston Home 2012. The brief was to create something slick and architectural combining timber and metallic finishes.

		<description>This is a piece I created as a present for my father's 60th birthday. The custom script arrangement takes some beautiful lyrics from the Bob Dylan classic Forever Young – "May your heart always be joyful, may your song always be sung, and may you stay forever young".

		<description>I was recently commissioned to develop a typographic arrangement to be used on the front of a Christmas card for Australian wine label Tellurian Wines. Their market are premium wine drinkers and the brand itself exudes elegance and sophistication so my response was a simple and elegant Spencarian style script of the words Season's Greetings pressed in foil.

After 12 years at being of the creative helm of Lifelounge I have decided to move on. Leaving the business was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do and was a lot more emotional than I was expecting. This piece was inspired by the emotions that were stirred up in the days that followed.

This limited edition giclee is printed on 290gsm Hahnemühle archival art rag 90% Bamboo fiber, 10% cotton with museum grade inks. Each print is signed and numbered and will arrive at your doorstep protected in a cardboard poster tube.

		<description>I was invited to take part in a project that showcases the amazing production techniques of Australia's premiere specialty print process house Avon Graphics... The only restriction was that the piece had to work on an A2 sheet. It's a bit of dream brief as I can have free reign of all of their print techniques too (foils, em/debossing, laser cutting/etching, varnishes laminate etc). Pretty much a kid in a candy shop right now. I have to try and hold myself back from taking it too far and turning into some kind of scratch and sniff, laser etched monstrosity...

&#60;img src="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/12581/2049913/LUKE_LUCAS_HYPE_TODAY_FINAL_PRINT_PREVIEW_860.jpg" border="0" width="800" height="1045" width_o="800" height_o="1045" src_o="http://payload.cargocollective.com/1/0/12581/2049913/LUKE_LUCAS_HYPE_TODAY_FINAL_PRINT_PREVIEW_o.jpg" align="left" /&#62;

The above is the artwork for my piece. I wanted to create something tough with big confident serifs and swashes to back up the statement HYPE TODAY GONE TOMORROW. Pretty much sums up the internet. I'll be releasing a limited edition of these prints for purchase in the coming months.

I also contributed a variation on this artwork to the typographic design based exhibition A Type Of Show presented by Like Minded Studio at Kind Of Gallery in August. For the show I had a variation of the same arrangement laser cut from 2 layers of perspex (pictured above).

		<description>Lifelounge Magazine was a contemporary culture publication that we began publishing in 2005. Over the following 6 years we produced 14 editions each one with a different theme which defined both the content curation and the aesthetics of the issue. We tried to represent a mix of music, art &#38; design, fashion, photography and stuff that interested us at the time. Throughout it's history I operated as Editor in Chief, Art Director and Senior designer and between a handful of us it was pulled together mostly after hours. The following is a small collection of some of the various spreads I designed.
